The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Talent, Culture and DEI to join our Human Resources team in Toronto. This is a permanent position.

As a Senior Manager, Talent, Culture and DEI, you will champion and execute strategic initiatives across Talent Management, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Organizational Culture, and Employee Engagement. You will play a critical role in cultivating a workplace where individuals feel valued, connected, and inspired to contribute meaningfully to the organization's mission. Your leadership and vision will guide the development of inclusive programs, foster a culture of belonging, and drive employee engagement globally. You will collaborate across teams to embed equitable practices, shape organizational values, and ensure that our people strategies align with business goals and future growth.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Lead the global talent strategy, setting direction for succession planning, leadership development, and internal mobility frameworks to build a future-ready workforce.
  • Define and evolve the organizational culture narrative, ensuring it reflects strategic priorities while enabling employee connection, purpose, and performance.
  • Champion enterprise-wide DEI efforts, embedding inclusive leadership expectations and partnering across functions to drive measurable progress and accountability.
  • Design and oversee global employee engagement strategies, including listening mechanisms, recognition programs, and experience analytics to inform leadership action.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, translating insights from engagement, DEI, and culture into actionable plans that enhance retention, belonging, and performance.
  • Establish governance and risk frameworks to proactively identify talent gaps and mitigate organizational vulnerabilities.
  • Influence and align regional HR and business leaders, ensuring talent practices are locally relevant yet globally consistent.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Communications, and Learning teams to shape the employer brand and embed cultural values into the employee lifecycle.
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as required to support evolving business needs and strategic priorities.

About You

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field such as Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Psychology, or Sociology is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 12 years' progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing enterprise-wide Talent, DEI, Culture, or Engagement strategies and programs.
  • Proven track record of leading global initiatives and influencing a variety of stakeholders in complex, matrixed environments, preferably in mining, energy, or heavy industry.

Skills:

  • Deep expertise in talent strategy and a strong understanding of DEI frameworks, inclusive leadership, and global compliance standards.
  • Experience designing and implementing employee engagement strategies, including survey design, analytics, and action planning.
  • Ability to shape and evolve organizational culture in alignment with strategic priorities and business outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in HR analytics, employee experience platforms, and digital tools that support talent and culture transformation.
