About the Role

The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients at the Hemodialysis Unit at the Labrador West Health Centre in Labrador City, NL. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;
  • Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
  • 1 year current Acute Care nursing experience preferred;
  • Hemodialysis Education Program or equivalent education;
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check;

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

  • Maintains competency in technological and clinical skills to provide hemodialysis in a satellite unit;
  • Maintains equipment and supplies;
  • Documents as per professional and organizational standards;
  • Works with individuals and colleagues in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating client focused ambulatory care programs;
  • Other related duties as required;
