Laboratory Services Manager, Restigouche Zone

SCHEDULE: Day, On Call, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Regional Director of Laboratory Services, and in collaboration with the Medical Director of Laboratory Services, the incumbent is responsible for supervising and coordinating laboratory services in the Restigouche Zone, including the Campbellton Regional Laboratory and the St-Joseph Community Health Centre collection site. The incumbent is responsible for managing human, material and financial resources, based on operational needs and in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduation from a recognized school of medical laboratory technology, Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or Bachelor of Administration or Health Services Administration or equivalent;
• Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists;
• Five years' experience in a medical laboratory;
• Five years' experience in administration and employee supervision;
• Leadership, organizational skills;
• Ability to adapt to change;
• Advanced knowledge of Meditech, Microsoft, etc.;
• Initiative and sound judgment;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to delegate tasks as needed;
• Ability to encourage and motivate;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
• Good work history (performance and attendance);
• Adherence to professional ethical principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values;
• Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.
