Pay Rate: | $22.61/hour

Overtime Method: | Averaging Agreement after 88 Hours

Job Description

  • Maintain a professional, visible, and alert security presence.
  • Greet, assist, and direct staff and visitors as needed.
  • Protect clients, property, and assets by carrying out assigned duties.
  • Perform interior and exterior patrols, respond to emergencies, and assist as required.
  • Document and report incidents, investigations, and daily activities.
  • Monitor CCTV, enforce access control, and manage keys.
  • Support patient watches and enforce hospital policies, parking, and smoking by-laws.
  • Conduct monthly safety inspections and report deficiencies.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently when required.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
  • Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
  • A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
  • KHSC Immunization Forms
  • Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR-V immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.
  • Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
  • 6+ months security experience (healthcare or non-healthcare preferred)
  • Full-time availability, minimum 6-month commitment
  • English proficiency (oral & written) required; bilingualism (English/French) an asset
  • 6+ months customer service experience preferred
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
    • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's Stay Safe certification program prior to their onboarding certification to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
    • Please be aware: The Stay Safe certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all the costs of the certification with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
