Job Summary
The Financial Assessment Officer completes financial assessments, using the Income Test and Needs Based assessment for clients accessing Housing and Supportive Services through the Mental Health and Addictions Program of NLHS. This position is responsible for completing funding agreements, where applicable; interprets policy and provides on-going evaluation of client financial needs; consults with staff within various NLHS Programs as well as external partners such as the Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development and conducts comprehensive reviews of financial services in accordance with provincial standards, Labour Standards and Service Canada guidelines. The Financial Assessment Officer also provides guidance and training, as required; and liaises with Revenue Canada, Labour Standards, agencies and clients.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from High School or equivalent.
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Commerce with major coursework in accounting or a three-year Diploma in Business Management with a focus in accounting is required.
Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with clients and others in a demanding environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Community Services and accounting principles and practice.
Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Experience in the use of spreadsheet software is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
