Applications are being accepted for a temporary full-time position of Manager of Long Term Care Services with NL Health Services at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing, NL. Reporting to the Regional Director of Long Term Care, the Manager of Long Term Care will be accountable for providing leadership in planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating program activities.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the key skills, behaviours, abilities and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A baccalaureate degree in a health care related discipline with current registration through a provincial regulatory body and a minimum of five (5) years? experience as a registered health care provider are required. Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years? experience working with older adults. A minimum of one (1) year management experience or two (2) years? of leadership experience within the last five (5) years is also required. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are essential, and demonstrated effective leadership is required.

In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor?s Degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
