Bay Side Home's model of care is based on the Eden Alternative. We embrace a person-driven culture where activities and care are structured in partnership with residents. Bay Side Home is a licensed long-term care facility, located at 96 Bayside Drive in Barrington, and home to sixty-two residents.
Position Available:Full Time Assistant Director of Care
About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Assistant Director of Care (ADOC) plays a leadership role in facilitating the home's model of care. You will work collaboratively with residents, their families, and the Bay Side Home team to provide "Care at its Best." Strong leadership, team-building, and clinical skills are key aspects of this role.
In this role, you will:
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and direct resident care needs.
- Provide leadership and guidance to LPN and CCA staff to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care.
- Ensure that Bay Side Home's policies are followed, including accurate documentation of actions, incidents, and resident needs.
- Assume responsibility for the home after hours and on weekends as assigned.
- Participate in management planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Eligible for a full benefits package, including NSHEPP Pension Plan, LTD, Medical, and Dent
Qualifications:
- Must hold, or be eligible for, active licensure as a Registered Nurse with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
- Experience in long-term care, with strong leadership and assessment skills, is considered an asset.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Commitment to resident-centered care and willingness to embrace a person-driven culture.
