The Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia (CPA Nova Scotia) is the regulatory body for Chartered Professional Accountants in Nova Scotia. We are seeking a Registration Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with a professional approach who would enjoy interacting with the membership on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs & Registrar, and working out of the downtown Halifax office, you will support the registration function at CPA Nova Scotia which includes processing registration applications and renewals and performing ongoing regulatory compliance for registrants, including members, candidates and students.
Responsibilities
- Process new member registration applications, new public accounting licensing applications, annual membership renewals and annual public accounting licensing renewals.
- Monitor members who are not in compliance with the Chartered Professional Accountants Act or CPA Nova Scotia By-Laws and follow up accordingly.
- Maintain the accuracy of the membership database for registrants and public accounting licence holders.
- Generate membership and licensure statistics as required.
- Respond to membership and public accounting licensure inquiries in a timely manner.
- Provide letters of good standing.
- Complete provincial confirmation forms upon request.
- Issue, print and mail all membership certificates to new members as required.
- Support the Associate Registrar in performing project-based compliance work as required including continuing professional development requirements.
- Support the Associate Registrar coordinate volunteer committees as required.
- Cross train with the Associate Registrar and registration team, as required.
- Other registration and compliance support, as required.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Minimum of an administrative diploma from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of five years practical administrative experience in a high volume and fast paced office environment. Experience working in a membership-based environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with database and customer relations management software is considered an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office 365, including Word and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
- Proven problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, accurately and quickly. Must be able to work for multiple persons and prioritize among competing tasks.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills that maintain a professional working tone.
