The Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia (CPA Nova Scotia) is the provincial regulatory body for Chartered Professional Accountants. We are seeking a Member Engagement Coordinator (14-month contract) to join our team. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with a professional approach who would enjoy interacting with the membership.
Reporting to the Director of Member Services and working out of the downtown Halifax office, you will be responsible for the planning and coordination of existing and new member-related events and activities occurring throughout the year. There will be some evening hours required and possibly some minimal travel.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate logistics for small and larger-scale events including working with vendors, venue staff, and other third parties
- Create and promote registration opportunities for members and non-members; track registrations and connect with registrants as required
- Build event budgets, track actual expenses, and report results to the Director
- Work with Communications staff to inform membership of events as appropriate
- Schedule and conduct post-event meetings
- Maintain accuracy of information on the website related to any member engagement activities and initiatives
- Maintain the Member Savings program and look for opportunities to add to the program
Experience and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience planning and executing events
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Effective time management: meeting deadlines is crucial
- Ability to work independently while also being collaborative
- Experience working with a member-based organization is considered an asset
