Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) team, the Manager – Commodity Local Market Risk, Group Risk Management will help promote a "Best of Class" risk oversight environment. This includes the following core components:

  • Maintain continuous awareness of the risk profile of the Commodities business
  • Definition of approved tradable instruments/products in commodity
  • Aid in the construction and monitoring of market risks and limits including Greek sensitivities and stress testing scenario design and shock calibration
  • Assist with monitoring compliance and policy requirements

What will you do?

  • Ensure market risk accurately reflect the risk exposure with due diligence and monitor changes in portfolio and market condition to extract value-added insight for senior management awareness.
  • Analyze key trading strategies and products to ensure they are in line with risk tolerance with the risk-reward
  • Collaborate with trading teams to ensure cohesion on key risk issues: systems, limits, risk management
  • Manage the development and enhancement of the risk infrastructure (e.g. product mandate, limit reviews, and new business initiative)
  • Investigate risks to provide value-added insight to senior management on risk trends and concerns.
  • Review significant transactions to help facilitate businesses while ensuring proper risk controls.
  • Look for opportunity to improve and standardize processes within the LMR team.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • Self-sufficient and independent skill at work. Highly curious and inquisitive.
  • Team player & strong inter-personal communication skill to deliver concise message in fast-paced environment
  • 1-3 years of experience required in market risk function including: * Deep understanding in financial derivatives, preferably in commodity space * VaR; back-testing; stress testing * Option Greeks * Sensitivity analysis and p/l decomposition
  • MBA, MA, MS or equivalent with emphasis in finance, economics or a quantitative discipline
  • Experienced in managing and coordinating projects
  • Proficiency in Coding through Python, Tableau, Excel, VBA programming and SQL
  • Strong investigative skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Nice-to-have

  • Understanding in traditional asset class is a plus
  • CFA or FRM designation
