JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the interdisciplinary EMP Wound Care team, guided by the EMP Wound Care Framework, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing quality patient care within the scope of professional LPN practice to patients and families throughout their life span. As a Skin and Wellness Associate Nurse (SWAN), the LPN will work under the direction of the Nurse Specialized in Wound Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) to provide wound care for stable patients within his/her scope of practice.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses
- Active registration with ANBLPN;
- Successful completion of the Skin and Wellness Associate Nurse Program, accredited by the Canadian Nurses Association;
- Minimum of three years recent medical/surgical, palliative care and wound care experience in an acute care setting;
- Demonstrated education and experience related to medication administration, phlebotomy and physical assessment;
- A good driving record with a valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License;
- Have a current CPR Level C certification or be prepared to obtain within 3 months;
- Ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and decision making skills;
- Support student placements initiatives;
- Able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record;
- A high regard for confidentiality; and
- Submit a valid and clean criminal record check.
