The Western region of Newfoundland is home to many pristine communities perfect for any active individual looking for a quaint, quiet, safe community to live, without the busy lifestyle of larger cities. The region boasts a wide range of outdoor activities, beautiful scenery and strong community pride throughout.
This position will operate out of a specific Medical Clinic or designated Hub site; the incumbent will be providing primary care clinical coverage to assigned rural medical clinics throughout the health neighbourhood. The Nurse Practitioner is part of an interdisciplinary team responsible for Primary Health Care services based on the needs of the population in the assigned health neighborhood. This can include the provision services in a variety of settings and methods including traveling clinics, in-person visits, virtual care, and visits in patients? homes including within personal care homes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador and current Nurse Practitioner License is required. The incumbent must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships is essential. Experience working independently with limited supervision and a willingness to travel are also required. Mileage and appropriate per diems will be paid in accordance with the RNUNL Collective Agreement.
In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Nurse Practitioner License, but are qualified to enroll in an approved Master in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner (MN/NP) program. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment upon appointment and provide updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
