About the Department/Region
Context: The Human Resources Department is responsible for planning, directing and implementing the various human resources policies, procedures, and programs in support of the organization's mandate. The department provides support, interpretation, and advice to departments, regional offices, and senior management in the areas of employee relations, staffing, job evaluation, compensation, staff development, occupational health and safety, disability case management, payroll and benefits administration.

Salary Scale: $65,747 - $87,936 per annum on the Management Pay Plan, 35- hour work week
Duties: Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Consultant works closely with the Human Resources team, specifically the Manager, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), to provide consultative and administrative support in delivering the Corporation's health and safety program. The incumbent helps ensure compliance with legislation and policies by tracking employee certifications, required training, coordinating safety initiatives, and supporting managers and staff on OHS-related processes. In addition, the HR Consultant contributes to broader HR initiatives such as employee orientation, tuition assistance, and professional development. Acting as a resource for staff and management, the incumbent fosters positive working relationships and promotes a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement across the organization. Other related duties may be assigned, including the facilitation of training as required.
Screening Criteria
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related field (equivalencies may be considered) including training or certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
Experience in human resources with exposure to occupational health and safety administration and training coordination.
Experience working with provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation and best practices.
Experience developing and delivering training (Asset)
Experience interpreting and administering Collective Agreements (Asset)
