Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Manager, IT Core, is responsible for aligning assigned Information Technology assets and processes with the business direction of Medavie Health Services and its subsidiaries.
In support of 24/7 emergency operations, the role coordinates teams of staff, vendors, external partners and IT consultants that are in multiple organizations throughout a variety of locations.
The focus of this position is to ensure that proposed solutions adhere to industry's best practices. Working within a fast-paced environment, it is important to ensure there is a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork, effective internal and staff communications, and provides personal and professional growth opportunities across all MHNL.
The role requires budgeting, forecasting, estimating and cost control responsibilities. Interaction with operating companies' senior management teams to review, request or justify costs will occur regularly.
Professional Qualifications & Competencies:
- University Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in information systems management or information systems initiative management, preferably in health care.
- Experience managing teams of IT professionals, preferably in a 24/7 emergency operations environment.
- Experience driving process improvement, functional design, and organizational vision.
- Experience in needs analysis, software/system selection methodologies, initiative management and budgeting.
- The ability to earn confidence, trust and respect from colleagues; present ideas clearly and concisely and follow through on commitments.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities, self-starter, decision-maker and problem-solver.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills; solid presentation and consultative skills.
- Strong relationship management skills for working with multiple stakeholders, government, management, vendors and staff.
