Qualifications

? Graduation from High School or equivalent;
? Completion of a recognized two-year Office Administration program;
? Completion of an approved Medical Terminology course;
? Ability to perform a variety of responsibilities with initiative and judgment;
? Ability to work independently;
? Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communications;
? Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties (included but not limited to)

? Transcribe physician orders as per Labrador-Grenfell Health Policy;
? Maintain client?s Kardex with status of consults, tests, and procedures;
? Respond to requests from clients and families and directs them to the appropriate person;
? Maintain the client?s chart by replenishing as required and closure of charts upon discharge;
? Arrange transportation for discharge or transfer, and boos follow-up appointments;
? Answer the telephone and directs calls;
? Check, order, and restock unit supplies;
? Transfer stable clients to and from appointments (i.e. x-ray);
? Transfer specimens to Laboratory;
? Pull health records for clinic and returns charts to Health Records;
? Other related duties as required.
