Job Summary
The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist III (MRI) is responsible for the operation of the magnetic resonance imaging scanner, all receivers and ancillary equipment to produce image data that will be interpreted by Radiologists. This includes performing examinations for the detection and diagnoses of injury/abnormalities; assisting the Radiologist in specialized procedures; performing contrast media injection as well as a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures for clinical or research purposes requiring the use of changing magnetic fields; maintaining a quality control program, which ensure that equipment error does not occur; ensuring the highest quality images are produced for accurate diagnosis and performing other related duties as required.

Constantly lifts or moves objects, less than 10 lbs. and regularly between 10-30 lbs. Push/pull up to medium forces.
Occasionally pushes and pulls objects or transports patients over 50 lbs. in wheelchairs or stretchers.
Regularly stands, walks, or sits for extended periods to perform activities.
A very high level of alertness and attentiveness is required when performing scans/procedures due to patients condition, safety and also because some scans/procedures are captured in real time.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized (accredited) program in Medical Radiography Technology is required.
Current registration and member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) in MRI is required.
Successful completion of a recognized (accredited) program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is required.
Must be willing to complete the Diagnostic Imaging Venipuncture and Contrast Injection Program at the first available opportunity.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
