The Financial and Consumer Services Commission (Commission) is a leader in integrated financial and consumer services regulation. The Commission's mandate is to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the financial and consumer marketplace through the provision of regulatory and educational services. With offices in both Fredericton and Saint John, it is responsible for the administration and enforcement of provincial legislation regulating mortgage brokers, payday lenders, real estate, securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, trust and loan companies, cooperatives, unclaimed property, and a wide range of consumer legislation. The Commission is a self funded Crown corporation responsible for the administration and enforcement of financial consumer services legislation.

Office & Facilities Manager - Finance and Facilities Division (Saint John or Fredericton office)

Are you highly organized, solutions-oriented, and passionate about creating efficient, safe, and welcoming office environments? We're looking for an experienced Office & Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our offices in Fredericton and Saint John.

This dynamic position ensures both locations are well-maintained, compliant with health and safety regulations, and running smoothly-supporting our teams so they can do their best work. Working closely with our property management company and internal stakeholders, you'll be the go-to expert for everything from vendor management to office ergonomics.

Your Focus

  • Office Operations: Oversee daily operations across Fredericton and Saint John offices, ensuring clean, safe, and efficient workspaces.
  • Facilities Management: Coordinate with property management and vendors for maintenance, repairs, renovations, and office moves.
  • Health & Safety: Co-chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee, lead workplace safety initiatives, and ensure compliance with related policies and regulations.
  • Reception & Admin Oversight: Supervise reception staff, support administrative functions, and manage front-desk operations.
  • Financial & Asset Management: Manage the facilities budget, oversee vendor contracts, track expenses, maintain asset records, manage inventory and procurement processes.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Maintain and update emergency response plans, conduct safety drills, and manage office security systems.

What you bring

  • Completed post-secondary education;
  • 3-5 years experience as an office manager, facilities manager, or similar role;
  • Willingness and ability to travel between the two offices (Saint John and Fredericton) from time to time is required;
  • Exceptional organizational skills and initiative;
  • Exceptional leadership skills;
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management operations and best practices;
  • Ability to set priorities as well as to anticipate demands;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facilities management software;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience with office management, budgeting, and financial management;

Additional Strengths

  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles. Familiarity with legal, accounting and securities terminology would be an asset.
