The Department of Justice and Public Safety is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Policing Standards and Contract Management Branch as the Manager of Policing Services. This position is located in Fredericton.

What you will do
Reporting to the Director of Policing Standards and Contract Management Branch, the Manager of Policing Services has primary oversight responsibility for developing and promoting provincial policies, standards, agreements and collaborative partnerships that ensure the delivery of consistent and standardized police services throughout New Brunswick. This position is responsible for the management of the quality assurance and assessment processes under the NB Policing Standards and will also be required to manage complex strategically focused project-based initiatives involving a broad range of stakeholders from within and external to the policing environment.
Other key responsibility will include human resource management, championing change and innovation, issues management, as well as providing advice to the Director on issues related to policing in New Brunswick.

Need to have:

  • University degree in Law, Business Administration, Social Sciences or similar discipline OR a Diploma in Police Sciences or graduation from an accredited Police training facility.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible related work experience in the policing field environment, including staff management. Related experience must include management of complex strategically focused projects.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history clearance and security clearance check.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirements are also required:

  • The successful candidate will be required to obtain security clearance at the level of SECRET, in accordance with the Government of Canada Security Policy.
  • The position may be required to travel within the province, as well as other Canadian jurisdictions.

Wage
$2,947.00 - $3,920.00 Biweekly (Pay Band 6) based on education and experience

  • Office layout: cubicles, meeting rooms
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30
