PROJECT COORDINATOR
Location: Tri-counties southwest nova scotia
Term: 2-Year Contract (Starting Fall 2025)
Organization: Canadian Mental Health Association- Southwest Nova Branch
Overview: The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Southwest Nova Branch is seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Coordinator for it's New Attitude program delivery. New Attitudes is a program centered around informative and interactive activities for high school students with the aim to promote healthy discussion surrounding the students' current knowledge and beliefs about mental health and mental illness. This position is ideal for someone with a strong passion for mental health advocacy, and is proficient in both English and French, written and spoken.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Scheduling and Timeline Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain project documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes, and performance metrics.
- Effective Communication: Foster clear communication within teams and with stakeholders to ensure project alignment and collaboration.
- Leadership and Team Management: Co-ordinate and lead the New Attitudes. Including leading the New Attitudes Steering Committee and report to the board of the CMHA board of directors.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Identify challenges and develop innovative solutions to keep projects on track.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Adjust project plans as necessary in response to changing circumstances or feedback.
- Conflict Resolution and Negotiation: Mediate disputes and negotiate with stakeholders to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Emotional Intelligence: Recognize and understand the emotions of team members and stakeholders to foster a supportive work environment.
- Creativity and Innovation: Encourage creative solutions and approaches to enhance project delivery and impact.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure all aspects of project work are completed with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
Qualifications:
- Bi-lingual English-French, both written and spoken.
- Proven experience in project coordination or management.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge and experience with mental health either lived or learned as is experience in the education system are assets.
