Hours: | Mon - Thurs, 1500-2300

Payrate: | $18.54/hour

Overtime Method: | Ontario ESA

Job Description:

  • Greet and interact with staff, students, and visitors politely and professionally
  • Enforce the parking By-Law regulation of Loyalist College.
  • Patrol all parking lot at loyalist college campus twice during the day.
  • Issue parking tickets to vehicles for unauthorized parking, no parking pass, parking in wrong parking lot, Handicap parking spot without proper handicap pass, in car pool without proper clearance , fire route and on grass.
  • By-Law duty are carried out during inclement weather.
  • Record all ticket into data base at the end of your shift and down load all picture.
  • This position reports to the site supervisor and performs independent, self-directed. The position carries a radio for safety and communication and will be required to testify in court.
  • Ensure all staff, visitors, and vendors are following the protocols
  • Provide assistance as necessary to staff and students
  • Assist visitors as necessary with wayfinding as required
  • Proactive, consistent patrols of the campus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with maintaining the utmost professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexible, and customer service orientation
  • Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations
  • Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Report writing and note taking
  • Surveillance monitoring
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Must not be a current Loyalist College student
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • French (oral and written) fluency is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in security, by-law, parking enforcement - considered an asset
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
    • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position but must commute to Kingston for 2 days of in-class training
    • Please be aware: The certification training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
