Hours: Rotating Continental (0630 - 1830 / 1830 - 0630)
Pay Rate: $21.59 / an hour

Job Description:

In this key role, you will oversee Etobicoke General Hospital. Your role will be to monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety, access control and CCTV. You will assist in tracking and deployment of security staff and handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking.

  • Utilizing Two-way Radio Communication and Perspective Software
  • Overseeing the tracking and deployment of security personnel across all of Etobicoke General Hospital
  • Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities
  • Monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety
  • Access control and parking
  • Assign reports to security personnel when required using reporting software
  • Investigate routine incidents
  • Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted area

Requirements:

  • Previous dispatch security experience is an asset, mimimum 3 years of security or related experience
  • Minimum 2 (two) years of security or related experience
  • Post Secondary education in a Law Enforcement/Security program from a recognized college
  • Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
  • Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
  • All successful applicants must undergo a vulnerable sector check
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
  • Legally Authorized to work in Canada
