Nova Scotia Power is seeking a General Ledger Analyst to join our ERP Program team as part of a broader Business Transformation initiative. This role will support the identification, configuration, and validation of general ledger requirements, including journal entries, exchange rates, controls, and reporting needs, to ensure accurate system setup and alignment with broader project milestones.
Key elements of this role include:
- Supporting the identification and confirmation of business requirements to subsequently provide configuration confirmation elements such as:
- Journal Entries - Requirements and coordination across different sources of journal entries, until integrations are created and manual coordination is no longer required,
- Exchange Rates - Identification and coordination of exchange rates required to be manually created in the system, until integration is created and manual coordination is no longer required.
- Month-End - Support of month-end procedures and coordination, until all required team members, systems, sources, are onboarded to Oracle Cloud.
- GL Controls - Identification and confirmation of requirements around approval rules, cross-validation rules, segment value security.
- Integration Validation - Support of review activities for the integration objects to be designed and developed across Releases 2 and 3.
- Conversion Validation - Support of the data reconciliation between the GL conversion load (from OneStream) and the upload to Oracle Cloud.
- Supporting the identification of reporting requirements and comparing those requirements with the standard out of the box reports.
- Validation/Testing of the above configurations to enable the progressive deployment of ledgers with the overall Program Deployment Timeline.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce or a related field
- Experience working with ERP systems, ideally in a finance or accounting environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage tasks independently and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly to business stakeholders
- Experience with data analysis, testing, and system implementation.
- Experience with functional and user acceptance testing is considered an asset.
