Nova Scotia Power is seeking a Tax/Cash Management Analyst to join our ERP Program team as part of a broader Business Transformation initiative. This role will support the identification, configuration, and validation of tax and cash management requirements to ensure accurate system setup and alignment with overall project objectives.
Key elements of this role include:
- Supporting the identification and confirmation of business requirements to subsequently provide configuration confirmation elements such as:
- Bank Account Details - numbers, legal entity assignments, assigned operating units, accounting strings, security rules, etc.
- Bank Statement Reconciliation Rules - Rules that need to be defined to auto-match system transactions (ex: AP, AR, GL, Payroll etc.)
- Bank Statement Tolerance Rules - Rules that help the system manage reconciliation difference amounts automatically
- Bank Statement Transaction creation rules - Automatic clearing of overhead transactions (ex: Fees, Interest, Bank Transfers, etc.) through pre-defined journal entries and statement line identification rules
- Parsing Rules - Transforming bank statement line references (ex: Cheque Numbers, Wire Numbers, etc.) provided by the banks in the statements, into system matching values.
- Tax Regimes, Tax Rates, Tax Rules, Tax Classifications, Tax Jurisdictions, including Withholding Tax Requirements and configuration requirements.
- Supporting the identification of reporting requirements and comparing those requirements with the standard out of the box reports.
- Validation/Testing of the above configurations to enable the progressive deployment of operating units/bank accounts/financial institutions with the overall Program Deployment Timeline.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field. A CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Experience working in tax compliance, cash management, or treasury roles.
- Experience with ERP systems implementation, testing, or support is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in verifying system outputs and identifying discrepancies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively across multiple business functions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Experience with testing tools or methodologies is an asset.
