The Opportunity:

Dre. Nathalie LeBreton, located in Dieppe, NB, is seeking a part-time Medical Office Administrator to join her team on a temporary term of eight (8) to ten (10) weeks. This opportunity is meant for an individual who has experience working as an office administrator within a family practice or health care setting. Key Responsibilities, as required/applicable:

  • Coordinates patient care through the clinic: checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms, and preparing exam rooms for the next patient.
  • Ensures exam rooms are stocked appropriately.
  • Answers inquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.
  • Manages and maintains appointment schedule in EMR (Medfar).
  • Manages incoming/outgoing communications.
  • Maintains paper charts.
  • Processes faxes.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Orders and receives office and medical supplies.
  • Prepares and processes clinic mail.
  • Performs all other related administrative tasks or special tasks.

Schedule & Location:

  • The medical office administrator temporary position requires availability to work on-site 2-days weekly (Monday and Tuesdays) 8 hours/day which excludes evenings and STAT Holidays. The possibility of working up to 3-days/week can be further discussed with the employer based on operational needs.
  • The clinic is located at 185 Acadie Ave, Dieppe, NB.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with a computer (including using the internet, electronic medical record system, and MS Office software).
  • Demonstrates excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit compassion and patience.
  • Self-motivated individual who has the ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to maintain a high regard for confidentiality and advocacy for patients.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in French and English is required.

Experience/Education:

  • 2+ years of experience as a medical office admin within a family practice is an asset.
  • Medical office admin diploma (or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • General knowledge of the New Brunswick medical system is an asset.
