Headquartered in Prince Edward Island, IMD has expanded its operations to serve customers across the province, as well as regions in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our leadership team and take charge of all financial operations, reporting, and analysis. This is a key strategic role reporting directly to the General Manager, responsible for driving financial performance and supporting data-informed decision-making across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process alongside the General Manager
• Oversee all core accounting functions: A/P, A/R, payroll, reconciliations, invoicing, and cash flow
• Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and manage performance dashboards and key financial metrics (KPIs)
• Conduct product routing cost analyses to optimize distribution and logistics strategies
• Design and manage financial models for international logistics clients
• Support internal process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives across operations
• Coordinate with auditors, external accountants, and tax consultants
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, vendors, and IT consultants

What You'll Bring

• A Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
• A recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) is considered an asset.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activities.
• Strong understanding of cost analysis, financial modeling, and reporting systems
• Proficiency with accounting software (Quickbooks), MS Excel and reporting dashboards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a keen eye for detail
