PROMISE PARTNERSHIP
The Promise Partnership is a long-standing community engagement initiative based at UNB Saint John, committed to advancing educational equity across New Brunswick. Our approach isn't about helping youth beat the odds-it's about changing the odds entirely. Through hands-on mentoring and tutoring, the program connects post-secondary students with children and youth aged 6-18 in schools, community centres, and other learning spaces. Together, they work toward goals in literacy, numeracy, and digital competency.

Salary Range: $54,767 - $74,642 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Moncton Program Manager, Promise Partnership the Education Program Coordinator, Promise Partnership will lead the coordination of elementary, middle school, and high school mentorship programs with Promise staff, and will support Coordinators in other locations as needed. This role will supervise Student Coordinators and mentors. They will also support the Managing Director and Curriculum Developer in expanding the program elsewhere in New Brunswick.
- Plan, coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of the elementary, middle school and high school offerings.
- Work with School Staff including the Principal, administrative assistant and teachers of the elementary school to facilitate program.
- Supervise between 1-3 support staff; supervise student coordinators, and post-secondary mentors/tutors.
- Recruit, interview, train and support 100+ post-secondary (from NBCC and UNB Nursing) students as Promise Partnership tutors and mentors with Promise Team (including maintain D2L for program).
- Support hiring of Discovery university student instructors as needed.
- Collaborate with NBCC and UNB on course offerings as appropriate.
- Coordinate logistical tasks related to budgets, food arrangements, billing etc.
- Collaborate closely with Promise Team.
- Establish and foster strong relationships with community schools, teachers and other stakeholders including NBCC.
- Identify and collaborate with other community-based programs offering complementary supports in community schools.
- Research and design training offerings for post-secondary students.
- Learn the technologies utilized by the Promise Partnership program, focusing on grades K-5, as part of the digital literacy program following the Digital Framework for New Brunswick. This includes simple robotics, coding, and 3D printing (training and support will be provided).
- Help design new program offerings, in collaboration with program staff, local schools and community partners as based on Needs Assessment done by Curriculum Developer.
- Support the Curriculum Developer, the Moncton Expansion Manager, and the Managing Director with program evaluation.
WHAT YOU BRING
- College diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years' direct experience managing youth-related programs and/or community-outreach programs.
- Demonstrable experience with program development and delivery.
- Demonstrable experience managing participant logistics and risk.
