Responsibilities

What you'll be doing...

As a member of the Research, Innovation and Workforce Development team, reporting to the Director, Workforce Development, you will:

  • Enhance and deliver the College's mandate to conduct community & industry liaising within Sectors around the Province
  • Support external stakeholder engagement through efforts that include work integrated learning, applied research, apprenticeship, program engagement, alumni support, continuing education, and contract training initiatives
  • Represent the College throughout Nova Scotia, to match College program skillsets and equipment with the innovative training needs and requirements of Industry Partner stakeholders
  • Develop and nurture relationships with external partners in industry, government, and other appropriate community organizations to support the increase of external engagement within the college
  • Negotiate and document agreements, contracts, and deliverables
  • Ensure that any intellectual property ownership and rights of the College, faculty, staff, students, and partners are protected at all times
  • Act as liaison between College stakeholders, government agencies, community members, and industry. Collaborate across schools and campuses and will stimulate engagement across all faculty, staff, and students
  • Manage budgets and operational planning; maximize and leverage results under constraints
  • Create and deliver programs that provide value to the College in furtherance of NSCC's strategic plan
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in a related field such as Business or Science; an MBA would be considered an asset
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of recent and related occupational experience in developing strategic sector engagement. You have specific experience in assessing industry training needs, and leading projects from inception to implementation
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, and Customer Relationship Management databases
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience
