We are seeking a Senior Change Management Specialist to join our Organizational Change Management team in a permanent role. Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Change Management, at Emera, you will lead complex change initiatives that drive transformation and optimize adoption across business processes, systems, and strategic initiatives.
You will play a key role in shaping internal change management practices, supporting leaders through transitions, and contributing to the development of foundational tools. As a senior team member on a team of 6, you may be required to coach and guide the work of others occasionally.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead complex, transformative change initiatives to maximize adoption and business outcomes.
- Develop and execute change management strategies, communication plans, and training programs.
- Create and manage change impact and readiness assessments, synthesizing data for executive-level reporting.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of change tools, templates, and processes.
- Support stakeholder engagement, leadership alignment, and sponsorship coaching.
- Facilitate focus groups, workshops, and change networks.
- Integrate change activities into project plans and collaborate with Project Managers to ensure alignment.
- Monitor and report on change progress using metrics, dashboards, and analytics.
- Develop sustainment plans to ensure long-term adoption and smooth transitions to operations.
- Occasionally guide or coordinate the work of other Change Specialists on shared initiatives.
- Contribute to the evolution of the Change Management playbook, tools, and standards.
What skills will make you successful?
You recognize yourself in many of the skills listed below:
- Undergraduate degree and 4+ years of experience in Change Management or related fields such as HR, Organizational Psychology, Training & Development, Adult Education, Communications, or Project Management.
- Once or more of the following qualifications: CCMP (Certified Change Management Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), Prosci certification, Certification or diploma in Adult Education
- Proven experience applying structured Change Management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, Kotter, Bridges).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and SharePoint and Experience with Power BI would be advantageous as well as an ability to work with digital tools and effectively utilise technology to drive change and departmental enhancements.
- Strong experience in training design and delivery with strong facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Evidence of the ability to lead, coach and develop others.
