Position: Part Time Security Guard

Site: Presstran Industries

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

Hours: Saturday & Sunday 16:00 – 00:30hrs

Payrate: $19.00/hr

The facility adheres to US Homeland Security CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program access control including inbound and outbound shipments, visitors and contractors. The guard will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions, inspecting and logging truck traffic and completing patrols.

Experience with CTPAT would be an asset. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service along with good computer abilities are all core requirements.

Duties include but are not limited to: CTPAT Procedures, Weigh Scale Operation, Covid Screening, Access Control, Monitor Security Systems, Conduct Security Patrols, Respond to Emergency Situations.

Job Description

Working on assigned shifts, you will work full-time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and responses to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance. You will be responsible for signing contractors and visitors and ensuring they have the proper credentials to gain entry.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess Ontario Security Guard License.
  • First Aid & CPR – Level C
  • Post-Secondary education in law enforcement from a recognized institution or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Physical Demands include excessive walking and standing.
  • Patrol area on foot as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.
  • Utilize radio and computer applications for communicating site activities.
  • Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills.
  • Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
