Responsibilities

What you will be doing…

  • You will be a Functional Analyst on the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Team performing both operational and project work. Applications you will be responsible for include PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, and OnBase, as well as integrations between the two and other systems. Operational work consists of Service Desk tickets, system maintenance, upgrades and enhancements. When required, you will be assigned to large projects.

  • Operational work varies in size and scope; you could be making a small change to a report or leading a small project to transform a business process. You will collaborate with many different stakeholders: business users when gathering requirements, technical analysts when designing a solution, the change advisory board when implementing a system change, and many more. You will be responsible for hands-on system configuration, testing, and implementation, which are key elements of this role. You will create and/or update documentation for end user training and system support. You will frequently be troubleshooting issues to determine the root cause, collaborating with technical and business teams to implement effective solutions. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • The Project Portfolio Management Office (PPMO) at NSCC is responsible for large projects. You may be assigned to projects run by the PPMO that involve Systems supported by the ERP Team. When assigned to a project you will work with a Project Manager and/or Business Analyst during planning and requirements gathering, providing input from a functional analyst perspective. You will be assigned project tasks during design, development/configuration, testing and implementation.

  • Core working hours are 9am to 4pm Atlantic time. Your regular working hours will be set with your manager upon hire. This position occasionally requires evening and weekend work to help resolve system issues, implement system changes, and perform system maintenance.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary diploma or degree in information management or related field.
  • You have a minimum of two years of recent and related occupational experience in ERP systems.
  • Occupational experience that includes PeopleSoft experience would be considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite and Email
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work

  • You have experience creating and maintaining SQL, XML, and/or HTML code.
  • You have experience creating and maintaining different types of documentation.
  • You have experience coordinating work for cross functional teams.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification would be considered an asset.
