The Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB) is seeking a full-time (1 FTE) nurse consultant. Nurse consultants at NANB are fully engaged in supporting the NANB mandate and Board of Directors. Work at NANB includes document development, nursing education program review, presentations, consultations with members and a diverse portfolio of core organizational and project work. The nurse consultant would report directly to senior leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
· Complete jurisdictional and literature reviews, monitor policies and practices related to nursing regulation and the practice of nursing.
· Develop documents and communications materials regarding nursing regulation, nursing, and health care issues by researching, collecting,
and synthesizing data.
· Complete regulatory program review of entry-level nursing education programs.
· Participate in the development and implementation and maintenance of improvement initiatives.
· Provide consultation services to members in relation to professional practice issues, including the interpretation and application of relevant
legislation and standards governing nursing practice in the province.
· Identify emerging trends and issues in nursing regulation, nursing, and health care through environmental scanning.
· Participate actively in committees, conferences, and consultation sessions both internal and external to the organization.
· Manage specific project work as required.
· Travel within the province (and at times within Canada or the United States) may be required.
Skills and Qualifications
· Master's degree in nursing or further advanced nursing education.
· Experience in nursing education, and/or curriculum development or program accreditation.
· Experience completing literature and jurisdictional reviews and document development.
· Excellent written and spoken competence in English and French is required (please state your language capability on your application).
· Strong writing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple files and tasks.
