The Department of Social Development is seeking a qualified individual to join the team as Regional Clinical Specialists in Restigouche (Northern Zone).

As a member of the Child Welfare team, the successful candidate will provide expert advice and support to social workers and social worker supervisors on the clinical aspects of assessment, treatment, case planning and service delivery practices. Plan, organize, and facilitate clinical consultations with social workers and social worker supervisors for complex cases requiring multidisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will provide periodic coaching sessions in case resolution, professional development, awareness, and training to foster shared learning, accountability, and support. Facilitate the integration of clinical tools, research, policy, and social work practice applications to enhance client- and family-centered care. Build relationships with ministry staff, other ministries, stakeholders, service providers and community organizations to advance child welfare practices, identify joint needs and foster the development and sharing of best practices.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in social work and a minimum of seven (7) years' experience as a social worker of which five (5) years must be in intake, investigations, child protection, children in care, family support services, OR currently working as a social worker or social worker supervisor for the Department of Social Development with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and a minimum of seven (7) years' experience as a social worker, of which five (5) years must be in intake, investigation, child protection, children in care, family support services, or family group conferencing.

Written and oral proficiency in French AND English is required for some positions and for others, written and oral proficiency in French is required. Please indicate your language skills.

Applicants must pass a criminal background check and be a member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to applicants with experience in or completion of the following courses:

  • Research;
  • Addiction/substance abuse;
  • Domestic Violence; and/or
  • Child Development,
  • Impacts of Trauma.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Work weekends, flexible hours and candidates must provide their own transportation within the region. Travel within and outside the region may be required.

Salary: $77, 220 to $91, 884 per year
