The Department of Health has an opening for the Manager of Physician Remuneration with the Medicare & Physician Services Branch in Fredericton.
As the Manager of Physician Remuneration, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and recommendations to Senior Management and various stakeholders, while managing staff within the unit. Specifically, this position will:
- Implement and monitor physician compensation models and arrangements;
- Consult, collaborate, and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and our health care partners;
- Recruit, mentor, and coach, a team of professionals, providing policy interpretation, advice, and guidance;
- Lead, monitor, and report on unit operations, recommending/implementing new policies and programs to support service delivery models and remuneration plans;
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and support the activities of the unit and the Department;
- Ensure program policies, processes, and unit activities are compliant with acts and regulations related to physician remuneration;
- Complete jurisdictional scans, data analysis, research, and collaborative work with Legal Counsel, the Data Analytics Branch, and other stakeholders to support decision-making and program planning;
- Develop/recommend remuneration models and accountability measures;
- Provide business knowledge and technical expertise during the development of new remuneration strategies;
- Coordinate/participate in departmental and physician-related committees, meetings, and working groups requiring a physician compensation perspective;
- Provide relevant, reliable, and clear information, supporting data analysis and reviewing alternatives, to inform planning and decision-making;
- Prepare Briefing Notes for Public Accounts and Main Estimates;
- Provide research and analysis, coordinate all negotiating files, and collaborate with stakeholders as part of the Negotiating Team for the Physician Services Agreement.

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Health, Public Administration, or another related field, and
- A minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Experience managing or providing guidance to a team of professionals
- Experience interpreting or analyzing policies and regulations, particularly related to health care (i.e., Physician Services Agreement, Medical Services Payment Act, etc.)
- Experience providing financial analysis, budgeting, and distribution, particularly related to physician remuneration

Salary: $65,936 - $92,092 per annum
