As part of the Transmission Line Design Engineering team, the Engineer I-IV is responsible the design and routing of transmission lines and structures that will meet all regulatory requirements and safety standards. Additionally, this position requires reviewing and stamping issued-for-construction drawings to ensure engineering accuracy and compliance.
Key functions include:
- Solve complex transmission line routing and design challenges while aligning with the team's mandate and delivering cost-effective solutions for the company.
- Prepare comprehensive engineered job packages and specify required materials for transmission line projects.
- Review and seal engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to construction.
Our ideal teammate will have:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience, with preference given to candidates who have transmission line design experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical or structural components related to transmission line design.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used in creating technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to write clear technical documentation.
- Registered, or eligible for immediate registration, as a Professional Engineer or Member-in-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
- Experience with PSCAD, CDEGS, PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, or PLS-POLE is considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
