Regulatory Engineering Technical Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Regulatory Engineering team, Major Projects team, Engineering Services and Capital Planning to ensure all Major Projects related filings are comprehensive, consistent, justified, high quality and adhere to Capital Budget Application Guidelines, requirements, and deadlines;
- Attend Major Projects meetings and provide support and guidance on related regulatory strategy;
- Work with Major Projects team to write Major Projects Capital Budget Applications;
- Write and provide support for Requests for Information related to Major Projects filings;
- Work with the Resource Planning team to support Reliability and Resource Adequacy filings as they relate to Major Projects;
- Prepare and present Major Projects information to the regulator and Intervening parties, as required;
- Work with Hydro's Capital Planning team to support Major Projects within regular Capital Budget Application and associated reporting;
- Prepare and/or support the preparation of progressively complex regulatory filings, commensurate with experience and demonstrated technical competence;
- Provide on-call regulatory engineering support on an as-required basis;
- Provide progressive mentorship within the regulatory engineering team commensurate with experience and demonstrated technical competency;
- Support other Regulatory Engineering tasks not related to Major Projects as required; and
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Regulatory Engineering and/or Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs.

What You'll Need:
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience. However, equivalent combinations of demonstrated technical expertise and practical experience may also be considered. In addition to strong technical proficiency, the candidate must exhibit a proven ability to lead teams toward sustained performance excellence. Exceptional communication skills-both written and verbal-are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and overall computer literacy are required. Experience with major projects, commercial data, and utility regulation-including regulatory submissions and project management within a regulated public utility environment-is highly desirable. Additional assets include expertise in utility capital planning, system planning, operations, and project execution.
They possess a great organizational ability, thrive on delivering under time-sensitive deadlines, can efficiently and effectively multi-task and manage workloads, have strong technical writing skills, excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills, and think critically and analytically, with a natural affinity for details. They must be able to demonstrate they are collaborative, and able to work and interface with a variety of multidisciplinary professionals. Candidate must recognize how to make improvements and develop solutions to implement change, ultimately providing the best quality product possible in a fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines. The successful candidate can quickly adapt to changing and/or conflicting priorities, is able to prioritize work assignments, work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate discretion and confidentiality while dealing with filings. At peak times, there will be overtime requirements, which may occur on short notice.
