Title: Senior Finance Analyst

In this role, you will:
Responsibility 1: Transaction Processing, Reconciliation, Analysis, and Reporting
- Regularly analyses Civilian Reserve Business Unit transactions and balances to ensure they are accurate, complete, and reasonable and identifies any errors or omissions and prepares correcting journal entries as required.
- Calculates the monthly cell phone reallocation to projects and prepares the related journal entry.
- Ensures the monthly general ledger process occurs as scheduled.
- Performs other transactional and account reviews and reporting as requested by management.
- Supports internal and external audits as needed.
- Cross-trains with other analysts to provide back up.
Responsibility 2: Employees and Volunteers at every level are responsible for safe work practices and to adhere to practices outlined in their applicable provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Participates and promotes completion of mandatory health and safety education/orientation.
- Participates and promotes respectful communication between all personnel and clients to promote a healthy and safe workplace.
- Aware of and adheres to policies and procedures related to health, safety and quality matters to ensure employee, volunteer, and client safety.
- Ensures all near-misses and incidents are promptly and accurately reported to Supervisor or designate.
- Ensures proper and required usage of job specific personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Addresses concerns of PPE non-compliance with Supervisor or designate.
- Participates in discussions regarding safety awareness during team meetings.
- As applicable, completes safety audits and ensures that corrective action plans are completed for identified safety concerns and/or hazards.
Responsibility 3: Support other Red Cross initiatives, as needed, to provide for a coordinated team effort to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable in the community.
- Participate in disaster planning, preparation, and response as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
What we are looking for:
- The incumbent must have the commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Movement and model the core competencies of the CRCS: team excellence, service excellence, accountability and results focused.
- Completion of a certificate or degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- General knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, techniques and policies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Time management and organizational skills reflected in the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision, and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively.
- Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.
- Experience with AX Dynamics is an asset.
- Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel is an asset
