JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Regional Rheumatology Department Head and the Medical Director for the area, the rheumatologist will perform specialized clinical work involving the assessment and treatment of patients with rheumatic disorders, autoimmune disorders and other disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The rheumatologist will provide care to patients with rheumatic diseases, including inflammatory arthropathies, connective tissue diseases and vasculitides, or with a clinical presentation suggesting a systemic autoinflammatory or autoimmune disease. The duties of the rheumatologist may require working closely with various health professionals.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree from a recognized medical school and residency granting a licence in internal medicine;
  • Recognized certification in rheumatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada;
  • A recognized medical school is a school that meets the following criterium:

    • Accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) (in the United States); OR
  • Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick;
  • Active member in the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent liability insurance association;
  • Member with the New Brunswick Medical Society;
  • Privileges with Vitalité Health Network;
  • Registration with New Brunswick Medicare;
  • One to three years' experience will be considered an asset;
  • Any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant and equivalent could be considered;

  1. The salary for this position is fee-for-service.
