JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Head of the Local Otorhinolaryngology Division and the Medical Director for the sector, the otorhinolaryngologist (ENT) screens for, diagnoses and treats medical and surgical conditions of the ears, upper aerodigestive tract and related structures of the face, head and neck, including the senses of hearing, balance, taste and smell.
The ENT manages the medical and surgical aspects of various clinical situations, including, without being limited to, the following: respiratory problems; benign and malignant neoplasia of the head and neck; conditions of the nose, sinuses and anterior base of the skull; hearing and balance disorders, and other conditions affecting the outer ear, middle ear, inner ear and the lateral base of the skull; conditions affecting the larynx, voice and swallowing; as well as conditions requiring plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck. The ENT is responsible for the initial assessment, surgical treatment, follow-up care and chronic and longitudinal care based on patients' unique needs.
The ENT also works with other health professionals to deliver diversified and comprehensive care to patients and their loved ones.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree from a recognized medical school and residency leading to licensure in otorhinolaryngology.
A recognized medical school is a school that meets the following criterium:
- Accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) (in the United States); OR
- Listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools with a note for Canada under the Sponsor Notes tab.
- Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick;
- Active member in the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent liability insurance association;
- Member with the New Brunswick Medical Society;
- Privileges with Vitalité Health Network;
- Registration with New Brunswick Medicare;
- One to three years' experience will be considered an asset;
- Any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant and equivalent could be considered;

NOTES:
- The salary for this position is fee-for-service.
