JOB SUMMARY

As part of Vitalité Health Network's Patient Safety Department, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and promoting patient safety activities. They work closely with all levels of the organization to promote a coordinated and continuous approach to patient safety activities, with the aim of reducing Vitalité Health Network's exposure to risks that may adversely affect the safety of patients and visitors. In particular, this person is responsible for coordinating the follow-up of reported incidents and providing support to managers in their follow-up work, as well as in the analysis of factors that may impact patient or visitor safety. They also coordinate follow-up of claims and act as a liaison between the organization and the insurer for all contentious cases related to incidents. The incumbent acts as a consultant in special situations to reduce risks to patient or visitor safety, in addition to performing all other duties assigned to this position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a health care discipline or any other combination of education and experience deemed relevant and equivalent may be considered;
  • Have specific training in patient safety management or quality improvement or be willing to take such training within two years of taking up the position (not required for a temporary position);
  • Five years' experience working in a hospital environment;
  • Management experience considered an asset;
  • Legal or legislative knowledge considered an asset;
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines;
  • Strategic and results-oriented mindset;
  • Problem-solving initiative and creativity;
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with frequent and sometimes unexpected changes;
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Judgment, tact and discretion;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, collaboration abilities and capacity to support change management;
  • Proficiency in IT tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Meditech, iReport, etc.;
  • Good written and spoken knowledge of French and English;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethical principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.
