Reporting to the Director of Ontario Mining, this role leads a multidisciplinary team—spanning operations, maintenance, engineering, and external resource management—to implement best practices and reduce operational risks. The Senior Manager partners across departments and with external stakeholders such as government agencies, unions, and community members, while managing the integration of processes, people, technology, and budgets. Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the mine operations, ensuring alignment across production, maintenance, Health Safety Environment & Risk (HSER), and financial goals.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Ensure a safe working environment through proactive hazard analysis, audits, emergency planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Production & Technical Execution: Manage increased complexity and risk within the mine due to seismicity, implement new orebody operations, and adhere to evolving environmental regulations.
  • Technology & Innovation: Drive digital transformation via automation, battery-electric vehicles, and integrated systems like Integrated Remote Operations Cente (iROC).
  • Strategic Planning & Financial Oversight: Develop and deliver short- and long-term business plans, with deep financial acumen and market awareness.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong ties with internal teams, vendors, unions, First Nations, and the broader community.
  • Project & Asset Management: Coordinate capital projects with daily operations, ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with long-term goals.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Manage site environmental impacts, legacy land issues, and promotes sustainable practices across operations.

About You

  • Capable of prioritizing capital expenditures and managing external contractors and service departments to meet long-term business and operational objectives.
