We're seeking a motivated Customer Data Associate to join our analytics team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career data professional to develop practical experience working with large datasets, data visualization tools and models within a utility environment. You'll play a key role in supporting our customer data infrastructure, analytical workflows, and data-driven decision-making while ensuring adherence to cybersecurity protocols. The position is a 12-month term.
Key elements of this role include:
- Data Request Fulfillment: Respond to internal data requests by querying and extracting customer data using Azure Data Explorer using Kusto Query Language.
- Dashboard Development: Build and maintain dashboards using tools such as Power BI in the Microsoft Fabric platform to support ongoing business insights and decision-making.
- Data Modeling & Analysis: Develop data models and perform exploratory analysis using Python, R, MATLAB, or another suitable programming environment.
- Segmentation Support: Contribute to the development, maintenance, and annual renewal of customer segmentation models and data regressions.
- Data Quality Assurance: Conduct validation checks and help ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data used in analysis and reporting.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Document methodologies and processes clearly, and collaborate with other analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and outputs.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below.
- Degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with data querying tools such as KQL and SQL is an asset.
- Experience with at least one analytical programming language (e.g. MATLAB, Python, R).
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Power BI & Tableau.
- Familiarity with building data pipelines from ADX to Microsoft fabric.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
