Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Support Services, the Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the effective supervision and management of the daily operations of the food and environmental services within St. Patrick's Mercy Home, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Eastern Health, CUPE collective agreement, Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and the NL Government Resident Care Standards and the guidelines of accrediting and regulatory agencies. This position works within an interdisciplinary team and liaises extensively with other programs and departments.
The Supervisor ensures that client satisfaction is met or exceeded, and optimal client care is realized through the provision of, safe nutritious meals, and a clean, comfortable, aseptic environment.
Job Qualifications
Education
Diploma in Food Service and Nutrition Management, or a Bachelor of Science with a focus on nutrition is required.
Experience
Minimum of three years of experience in food service and/or environmental and linen supervision is required.
Experience using Meditech payroll and/or Scheduling is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental (Housekeeping and Laundry) and Food Services standards and practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning processes, waste management and linen production and related infection control policies and practices.
