The Manager, Transfer Pricing and Global Finance Reporting will help ensure specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. The individual will also ensure that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, the Transfer Pricing Framework, and the Global Transfer Pricing Policy. The Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) performs many activities in Canada to support its foreign operations (whether branches or subsidiaries). These services may include management, operational support (e.g. HR services, fraud support, etc.) and oversight (e.g. Audit).The Global Transfer Pricing program helps ensure that the costs of providing a service borne by one BNS entity for the benefit of another are allocated appropriately and comply with legislative tax and transfer pricing requirements.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Manage the execution of the quarterly transfer pricing billing process, which includes but is not limited to, overseeing the collection of billing data analyzing and assessing reasonableness of the proposed charge-out for services rendered in accordance with the various intragroup contractual terms and conditions, and distribution of bills to legal entities. This includes working closely with Global Taxation and other members of the Global Transfer Pricing team in on-boarding new head office support service groups and service descriptions into the transfer pricing administration tool / application. This includes ensuring appropriate documentation for services is in place & broadly communicated (i.e., confirmation of cost comparison to BL allocations, cost rate definitions, cost pools, and socialization of costing details amongst the service recipients & service providers).

•Managing the quarterly billing & enquiry support functions. Generate complete & timely intragroup invoices for services provided using data sourced from the Bank's general ledger and HR systems. Provide subsequent support with escalation and management of key enquiries from service recipients (i.e., dispute resolution). Capture, track, and process charge-out credits as needed and resulting from these disputes.

•Providing support for user focus and training sessions for head office support groups. This includes documenting key drivers and information for head office support service providers and conducting focused group sessions for key audiences such as Risk Management, Global Business Payment, and other Corporate Functions.

• Being an active member of the project team in implementing process enhancements. This include searching for opportunities to improve the Global Transfer Pricing process, providing input into drafting business requirements, working with IT to address any build questions, testing the end product, and signing off.

• Generating year-end transfer pricing reporting. This function works closely with the Global Transfer Pricing team to help ensure completeness & accuracy of year-end reporting for both International Banking and GBM related entities - governance.

•Assist with ad hoc requests from key stakeholders and support the Global Transfer Pricing team, as required.

• Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicate the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout the team.

•Confidence and experience in presenting internally and answering authoritatively on subject matter.

•Experience in transfer pricing operations for tax transfer pricing purposes preferred.

•Familiarity with transfer pricing rules and OECD guidance preferred.
