Reporting to the Manager, Shopper Analytics, the Loyalty Program Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Corporate Services team's strategies through loyalty program data analytics, reporting, shopper demographic and behavior modelling. This position is responsible for driving key business insights and solutions through business unit metrics, along with reporting and analytics to evolve the personalized shopping experience through loyalty data.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Draw and share insights for evaluating the strategic impact on the category business through Air Miles data, primary and secondary research studies, and internal NSLC data sources
  • Support the business to highlight trends focused on the Air Miles collector through basket interaction, demographics, and promotional effectiveness using Air Miles data
  • Provide analysis for supporting promotional activities, including pulsed in sale and Air Miles events
  • Analyze Air Miles data to uncover new insights and make recommendations working in tandem with the Air Miles team
  • Analyze and advise on promotional effectiveness to support and inform supplier plans and NSLC's Category teams' promotional strategy
  • Work directly with the Air Miles analytics team to analyze, re-envision, and recommend changes/improvements to current provided reports
  • Offer business recommendations grounded in analytical insights
  • Work in tandem with the Category Analyst and Insights Analyst to link what our shoppers are saying through market research versus what they're doing via Air Miles, as outlined in our Strategic Plan under the Shopper focus area (enhance service and improve access to products Nova Scotians enjoy)
  • Analyze and understand interaction and differences between NSLC non-Air Miles shoppers and Air Miles shoppers
  • Development of presentations and documents for communication of insights and shopper findings internally and externally
  • Support the development of Category strategies by bringing forward insights to improve sales and gross margin that are in alignment with Category health objectives
  • Support the business as a subject matter expert for our Air Miles shopper by responding to ad-hoc data requests as well as providing basic technical support and analysis
  • Assist the Shopper Engagement Leadership and Category teams to integrate promotions across NSLC channels (retail, online, wholesale) through collaboration with promotional coordinators and marketing team

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in meetings with vendors as necessary, presenting insights as required
  • Provide general support and research for the Category teams to make informed decision about our changing shopper needs
  • Play an active role in the execution of the annual Category MAPS (Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing, Shelving) fundamentals
  • Provide back-up support to Insights Team as required
  • Demonstrate commitment to NSLC's Kore Values, social responsibility mandate and workplace health and safety
  • Perform other related duties as assigned; some travel required, primarily within NS
Qualifications

As a qualified candidate you will have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Math or Statistics
  • Minimum of three years' analytical experience in a business environment
  • Experience or extensive training in the use of spreadsheets, data applications, and data manipulation

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • 5 years' experience working in a retail environment and/or beverage alcohol industry
  • Experience working in an SAP/BW environment
  • Experience in the packaged goods or beverage alcohol industries
  • Knowledge around programming (Python, VBA)

An alternate combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent.
