Who you are

You have a worked in accounting for a minimum of 6 years. You have experience in financial information systems, detailed data analysis, financial reporting, and developing and maintaining accounting procedures, practices, and principles to ensure timely and accurate financial statements. You have intermediate+ knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience in systems transformation and process improvement.

The successful candidate will possess the following behavioral competencies: analytical thinking/judgement, change leadership, process improvement, system transformation, client service orientation, information seeking, results orientation, team leadership.

Successfully completed a university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field and CPA designation is required.

6 Years of experience required related to this field.

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

What you will do

Reporting to the Regional Director of Financial Operations, the Regional Manager of Accounting is responsible to plan, organize, direct, monitor and continuously improve the Accounting function for Horizon Health Network. The Regional Manager of General Accounting provides leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a Accounting staff to ensure all financial activity is recorded within established time frames and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP). Will lead and build a capable and multi skilled team to effectively meet monthly workload while coaching and developing individuals. The Regional Manager of General Accounting will work collaboratively with multifunctional teams to ensure the overall high system performance within the General Accounting process.

Key responsibilities of this position are:

  • Directs the annual year-end financial audit.
  • Directs the monthly accounting close process.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reports.
  • Analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on financial data
  • Directs and oversees the recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information.
  • Provide oversight and direction for financial operations and related subledgers.
  • Administrator of the General Ledger, Fixed Asset, Banking and Government tax systems.
  • Recruits, hires and trainings General Accounting staff.
  • Assigns and schedules tasks and communicates job expectations to staff, including evaluating job performance and recommending compensation adjustments.
  • Delegates, supervises, and participates in accounting department tasks.
  • Develops, implements oversight of financial and department controls and procedures.
  • Manages and reports investment activities.
  • Ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with finance-related laws and regulations.

Participates in special projects related to the process improvement financial operation.

This position may require some travelling within the province therefore, candidates must possess a valid New Brunswick driver's license.
