SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Primary Health Care and the Palliative Approach and Integrated End-of-Life Care, the Director of the Primary Health Care Integrated Services Networks will lead and supervise all activities of the integrated services networks in each community within Vitalité Health Network's territory.

Specially, the incumbent will be responsible for leading all points of service of the primary health care integrated services networks, including all the integrated interdisciplinary teams in the community, health centres and community health centres. As part of their mandate, they will be responsible for the planning and organization of the care and services provided and act as a consultant for the delivery of services based on a primary health care model. They will be responsible for managing human, financial, and physical resources, training staff, managing quality, safety and performance, and supporting training and research. In addition, they will ensure that the tools are in place to support the managers and employees under their responsibility. They will be entrusted with various mandates according to operational needs, such as responsibility for developing and implementing services/processes based on the needs of the department, the Network and the province.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline;
  • Master's in the health field an asset;
  • Training in health management or organizational leadership an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a management position in health care;
  • Eight to ten years' experience in the health field;
  • Proven knowledge and experience in primary health care;
  • Experience supervising/managing staff and strong coaching skills;
  • Knowledge and experience in program and project development and implementation;
  • Member of a professional association;
  • Excellent leadership, high level of initiative and sound judgment;
  • Proven ability to exercise transformational leadership;
  • Strategic-thinking skills and innovative, collaborative and visionary management style;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage many projects at once;
  • Ease forging internal and external partnerships with their knowledge of the field and ability to bring people together;
  • Ability to function with ease in a changing environment and strong aptitude for implementing change management strategies;
  • Extensive experience managing human, material and financial resources and information in general;
  • Proven ability to achieve results, whether directly or through teamwork;
  • Regional role, willingness to travel within the Network territory and the province;
  • Ability to use the computer tools currently used within the Network;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.
