We are currently looking for a Permit and Metrics Analyst to join the Reliability Performance team in a permanent position to provide process and administrative support to the development of pole line designs and the obtaining of associated permits.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, Performance Standards, you will be responsible for supporting the Reliability team in delivering on its over-arching requirement to provide pre-engineered designs, materials, and methodologies for the installation of distribution assets across the province.

The Permit and Metrics Analyst will support the development and oversight of pole line designs, an important function within the Reliability team, and will contribute to ensuring timely permitting and effective coordination in support of NS Power's reliability goals.

  • Supporting the development of dashboards relating to the management of pole line design permits.
  • Creating and updating regular reporting with respect to work volume and customer commitments.
  • Planning and prioritizing work effectively to provide timely delivery of commitments.
  • Demonstrating consistent technical due diligence, accuracy, and good organization skills to complete work.
  • Collaborating with other departments for alignment with operational field-based teams.
  • Leading by example by demonstrating NS Power's commitment to a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
  • Being responsible for your personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
  • Always holding safety paramount for self and others and ensuring Safety Program requirements are being met in a timely manner.
  • Being accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
  • Achieving objectives in the Environmental Management System (EMS) on an annual basis as assigned.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills:

  • You are proficient in business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • You are comfortable working with SharePoint, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
  • A degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering Technology is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with utility distribution assets and system design, construction, and/or operation is considered beneficial.
  • You are a self-starter with strong organizational and analytical skills and have experience managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • You are also available to support emergency power restoration efforts in an assigned storm role, which may differ from your regular position.
