About Us
At Mabel Systems, we're digitizing the seafood industry. Through innovative traceability software and digital water quality sensors, we help seafood processors and producers improve operations, meet global standards, and keep seafood fresh and safe.
We care about building reliable tools, improving processes, and making life easier for our customers and each other. If you're someone who loves refining systems, spotting issues before they become problems, and helping a team work smarter, we'd love to have you on board.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Software Quality & Deployment Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our software systems run smoothly, meet quality standards, and deliver reliable results to our customers in the seafood industry.
You'll work closely with our software and hardware developers to manage testing processes, support deployments, and help us improve the way we release and monitor our systems. If you're detail-oriented, curious about how systems work, and passionate about catching issues before customers do - this could be a great fit for you.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role where you'll have the chance to shape our quality control processes and help build a smoother, smarter, more reliable platform for seafood processors and producers.
You must be a current resident of Atlantic Canada but preferably Nova Scotia.
What You'll Do
Support our software and hardware development team by managing and improving our testing, deployment, and quality control processes.
Set up and maintain automated testing tools and frameworks to help catch bugs early and ensure reliable software updates.
Collaborate with developers to test new features, identify issues, and track them through to resolution.
Help manage our software release process - from testing to deployment - ensuring every release meets our internal standards before it reaches customers.
Monitor and measure system and software performance after releases, reporting on issues and improvements.
Contribute ideas to improve product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Bring
You've clocked a number years (3+) in the world of software testing, whether by clicking through interfaces or setting up automated tests to do the clicking for you.
You bring real-world testing experience and the kind of supportive energy that makes you a great teammate and mentor - someone who's happy to coach others and share what you've learned.
Strong attention to detail and a natural instinct for spotting inconsistencies before anyone else does.
Experience testing GraphQL APIs and React/React Native apps - understanding how to approach testing these types of applications is more important than having experience in our exact stack (we use Golang and TypeScript).
Experience with GitLab CI/CD would be great, although skills with other CI tools should translate well.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git - and if you've used tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab, that's a bonus.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Bonus points if you've worked with IoT systems, inventory/traceability software, or operational management tools - or are curious to learn about them.
Why Join Mabel?
Be part of a growing, innovative company making a real impact in the seafood industry.
Work on meaningful projects with a team that values practical problem-solving and good people.
Flexible work environment (remote, hybrid, or in-person options).
Opportunity to shape the future of our tech infrastructure and DevOps culture.
