The Corporate Services and Community Funding Division provides departmental services including financial management, strategic planning and performance excellence, as well as oversight of human resources management and information technology development and support. It provides oversight and administration services for the Canada Community Building Fund, and the provincial Environmental Trust Fund. The division provides technical support and engineering advice to communities in addressing their infrastructure concerns as they relate to the applicable funding programs.
The Public Education and Engagement Branch coordinates the development and/or support of departmental public education and engagement initiatives aimed at capacity-building and behavioural change, oversees legislated consultative processes, devises options for non-legislated engagement, and supports stakeholder recognition and public outreach activities. It also liaises with the Department of Indigenous Affairs to oversee and support the department's First Nations engagement and consultation requirements
The Department of Environment and Local Government provides integrated stewardship through planning and management of land use, and waste management issues. It ensures effective enforcement of, and compliance with, environmental legislation and regulations and provides effective consultation and liaison with local governments, regional service commissions and Rural Districts on governance related issues.
What you will do?
As a member of the Corporate Services and Community Funding Division and working collaboratively with the Public Education and Engagement Branch, you will be responsible for supporting the department on its environment related priority projects. This includes:
Engagement
- Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of Engagement Plans
- Assisting with the development of status updates, reports and visuals for meetings
- Proposing approaches and strategies to ensure broad reach across audience groups
- Analyzing large amounts of information from various sources to prepare succinct, understandable messages
Communication
- Coordinating communication related activities across priority projects
- Drafting compelling communication materials (i.e., memos, web content, presentations and summaries)
- Reviewing and editing documents
- Liaising with the Communications team to ensure alignment Support Change Management planning and implementation
- Building, and fostering relationships with internal and external partners.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Essential qualifications
University Degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or a related discipline with at least four (4) years related experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate one or more of the following:
- Experience writing and editing briefing materials
- Experience preparing presentation materials and infographics
- Familiarity with communication tools
- Experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc)

Wage
Pay Band 4: $ 2,216 to $ 3,099 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week
Work environment
- Office location: 20 McGloin (Marysville Place), Fredericton.
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30 (office schedule)
