Title: Manager, Relief Operations

In this role, you will:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities and develop and update emergency response plans based on identified risks and ensure they align with CRC's overall vision and strategy.
- Coordinate with various agencies, organizations, and community stakeholders to ensure a unified and effective response/s.
- Build and maintain relationships with government, community/local groups, different non-profits and various funders.
- Understand the scope, reporting requirements, budget as the main point of contact for executing our contract/s or service agreement/s.
- Organize and participate in emergency response exercises to evaluate and improve readiness.
- Lead and coordinate emergency response efforts during response operations.
- Ensure the availability and functionality of emergency response resources.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance community resilience.
- Stay informed about changes in policies and regulations related to emergency management.
- Conduct thorough reviews of emergency responses to identify strengths, lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Implement changes to plans and procedures based on post-incident analyses.
- Engage with the community to build awareness and involvement in emergency preparedness initiatives.
- Foster partnerships with community organizations to enhance overall resilience.
What we are looking for:
- Qualifications include a minimum of 4-7 years experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree [specify relevant topics] and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Supervisory or management experience with leadership and team management skills and the ability to manage performance, resolve conflicts and engage employees
- Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite), database platforms and interactive data visualization software.
- Ability to plan, adjust and operationalize the service agreements by understanding the needs and impact of the service and choosing the best method of delivery based on these needs.
- Ability to identify complex problems, analyze interrelated factors, assess and mitigate risks, and develop solutions using specialized skills.
- Communication and influence skills to gather perspectives, understand needs, and present information to reach consensus, often in somewhat sensitive situations.
- Fluency in English is required; French is an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Will be working primarily in an office environment when not deployed to an emergency response operation.
- Some domestic travel in generally safe environments .
- Some travel by vehicle may be required.A valid provincial driver ' s license is required.
- All roles within the Humanitarian Services (HS) team contribute to emergency response efforts directly or indirectly.
- All CRC roles are required to adapt work and priorities to support emergency response efforts, be present in person as required to support service delivery and deploy to emergency responses when appropriate and/or required (personnel availability and request for exceptions will be discussed with line management).
- For CRC roles that are assigned a function in the Emergency Relief operational structure (in field and virtual), personnel may be required to be part of an on-call roster and be available for scheduled on-call work
